I know you as a follower do not know me, but I am one of your sisters. And if there’s one thing I’d like you to know, is something I have yet to admit to myself.

I’ve been going through a roller coaster of emotions for as long as I can remember. I’m happy, but at the same time I’m also a very sad person. At night, I sometimes cry myself to sleep. I’ve considered dropping out of school. My grades as never as good as I want them to be. And my boyfriend and I (who happened to be a Phi Mu Alpha boy) have a bit of a complicated relationship with distance issues. I’ve never gotten to the point where I wanted to end my life as a whole. But ending life as I know it- with school and friends, often comes and goes.

But then there are these little moments with your sisters, that make everything else seem irrelevant.

I’m in the Miami University Marching Band, and as some of you know we marched in the 2013 Inaugural parade recently. We were given a free day on the day before the parade to explore the city, the monuments, and the countless museums. Before I encountered this journey, I pondered who I was going to be hanging out with for the day. Because one of my closer sisters could not make the trip.

Thank goodness I have more than one sister. Because I ended up spending the day with two others and it was fantastic. One of them just recently returned after being away from school for medical leave and the other I had begun trying to be closer to. It was just a day full of feelings I’ve been longing to feel for a long time.

The best part was, those good times have continued now being back at school for only a few days. Today our chapter had a ritual rehearsal for the pledging ceremony this coming Friday. But afterwards of course a few of us had an ice cream hour, talking about the future of the fraternity (basically).

Maybe this whole story didn’t make sense. Or maybe you’re wondering what I’m trying to say here. But overall I just want to say that I’m only seeing my future growing brighter with SAI. It’s time to break from this sad state of mind and focus on promoting and encouraging music to people all around me. It’s also time to welcome new members into our very young chapter and mold its future ever before us. <3

So I made this sweatshirt a few days ago :) it looks kinda crappy, and I’m disappointed I didn’t realize until later that the music notes on the A go vertical instead of horizontal. But I give myself some credit for being a non-crafty person!
